New measures have been introduced at the UK border to guard against a second wave of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections. These new measures include international arrivals completing an online passenger locator form and self-isolating for 14 days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The online passenger locator form<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Everyone, including haulier drivers, arriving into the UK from outside the Common Travel Area (CTA) must complete an online passenger locator form to supply contact details and travel details. <\/span><\/strong>Your driver cannot submit the form until 48 hours before they are due to arrive in the UK and they will need to show the completed form when they arrive at the UK border, either by printing a copy or by showing it on their phone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When completing the form, after your driver has entered their personal details, they will have the option to confirm their travel plans and whether they will be travelling to the UK more than once in the next 48 hours. By selecting this option, your driver will be able to submit journey details for more than one journey to the UK. Your driver will only be able to add details for the trips made over a 48 hour period and so would need to complete a new form for other future journeys.<\/span><\/p>\n

The UK Government will use this information to contact your driver if they or someone they have travelled with develops coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If your driver refuses to provide their details, they may be fined up to \u00a3100 and may be fined more if they break this rule more than once.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

14-day self-isolation\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Those driving goods vehicles will not<\/u> need to self-isolate for 14 days.<\/span><\/strong> When they arrive at UK border controls, your driver will need to show that travel is part of their job, for example:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0a letter from their employer
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0a consignment note
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0their operator\u2019s licence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These measures are subject to review to ensure they are in line with the latest scientific evidence and that they remain effective and necessary. The first review will take place by 29 June 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
